YOUTH EXCHANGE IN ESTONIA - CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS!

Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for participants for a project called Feel the world - Be the Superhero” a Youth Exchange that which will take place from 17th until 25th August 2017 in Otepää, Estonia.

Last couple of years has brought us a lot of news about how refugees are taking unsafe ships, trains or any other vehicle to escape from their home countries. Some of them have to walk kilometers and kilometers to reach another country or people who would help them to leave the country. Mothers with children who are only couple of months old are leaving their homes without knowing where exactly or to which conditions they are going - if they have something to eat or not; if they have a place to sleep or not and if in that other country are some compassionate people who would help them to start a new life. All of this is done most often illegally.

Migration is probably the hottest topics right now. Everybody is talking about it and everyone have an opinion about it, but very few people actually know what is the difference between refugee, asylum seeker and immigrant, what are the causes of movement, do they have right to social protection or how countries should manage refugees.

The main aim of the exchange is to widen youngsters world view on the topic of migration, make them more tolerant and acceptable toward differences and give them competences to address the problem in society.

The objectives below make this aim more specific:
·       Giving participants time and space to learn, share, experience and reflect on different dimensions of migration and mobility
·       Develop participant’s tolerance and acceptance toward differences
·       Develop deeper understanding about different sides and aspects of migration and mobility
·       Develop cross-cultural awareness by providing structured space for sharing, experiencing and addressing intercultural learning
·       Initiate co-operations between NGOs all around Europe to develop new initiatives in the field of youth and mobility within Erasmus+

This event will bring together 37 participants from Estonia, Greece, Portugal, Czech Republic, Poland and Italy. The event will be held in English. There are 5 vacancies available and participants should have minimum 18 years old and involved on the youth field.

The Erasmus + Programme will cover 100% of the accommodation, food and activities. There will be a participation fee of 25 Euros.

All the interested people should fill the application form below. The application form must be sent to marco@nyh.ee

TRAINING COURSE IN LITHUANIA AND STUDY VISIT IN ARMENIA - CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS!

Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for participants for a project called Intercultural Education and Youth Work for More Inclusive Europe a Training Course that which will take place from 03rd until 11th September 2017 in Vilnius, Lithuania and a Study Visit on 16th until 21st October in Yerevan, Armenia.
Civil society organizations can play an important role as a response to the crisis and radicalization that has become its consequence. There are examples when NGO's and active citizens have gone beyond their capacities in order to fill the gap left by national and regional authorities and have proven they have the will and the need to be heard. This positive cases must be multiplied and the role of civil society has to be expanded. Thus, creating network of organizations working or willing to work in the field of migration and deradicalization is essential. It is also very important to build the capacities of staff members, social workers, youth workers and human right activists in the field so they can provide adequate support to young people with refugee and migrant background as well as to young people affected by "migrantaphobia" and violent extremism.
There is a clear need of empowering civil society organizations which are working with refugees and migrants so they become stronger actors in the current refugee crisis. They need to be better prepared to contribute to the resolution of the refugee crisis and to policies for the integration of refugees. This may result in providing both high quality support to the refugees and migrants as well as in supporting the EU and national policy making with valuable input.
This is why we came up with an idea of a 2 Stage Project - Training Course in Lithuania and a Study Visit to Armenia that will be gathering 36 youth workers and staff members of Civil Society organizations both from the EU (Lithuania, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden) and the Neighboring partner countries (Armenia, Belarus, FYR Macedonia, Georgia, Moldova, Serbia, Ukraine).  To ensure a long term impact we will involve same 36 youth workers in both activities of the project.
This event will bring together 36 participants from the EU and Neighboring Partner Countries. The event will be held in English. There are 2 vacancies available and participants should have minimum 18 years old and involved on the youth field.
The Erasmus + Programme will cover 100% of the accommodation, food and activities and will reimburse 100% of the travel costs for the participants – up to 275 euros to Lithuania and 360 euros to Armenia. There will be a participation fee of 40 Eur. per participant.
All the interested people should fill the application form below. The application form must be sent to marco@nyh.ee
Application deadline: 7th August 2017

TRAINING COURSE IN ARMENIA AND STUDY VISIT IN UNITED KINGDOM - CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS

Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for participants for a project called FEMPOWER Fostering Gender Equality through Youth Empowerment and Gender Mainstreaming in Youth Work a Training Course that which will take place from 22nd until 30th July 2017 in Yerevan, Armenia and a Study Visit on 11th until 16th September in London, United Kingdom.
European Union and the UK deserve credits for having tackled gender issues for a long time, however, gender equality situation both in the EU, the UK and the Neighboring countries, especially in Eastern Europe and Caucasus remains unsatisfactory. Conservative, discriminating values are hard to tackle, with clearly defined roles for men and women, gender stereotypes and issues with the expression of gender identity and sexual orientation. It is very important to enable youth workers and young leaders to feel and reflect about the power of gender and gender roles by giving them space to discuss, debate and learn more about the topic that often remains without discussion.
That is why with this Training Course we would like to tackle these issues and look for solutions in our organizations and daily lives. We would like to develop and improve our participant’s knowledge and understanding on various concepts related to gender issues, analyze traditions, roles and perceptions of gender in different countries and societies. It's obvious that there will be huge differences as participants will come from different realities and different corners of Europe.
