EUROPEAN VOLUNTARY SERVICE IN FRANCE VACANCY

Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for volunteer for 1 European Voluntary Service placement called “EVS and Beyond” for 04 months, which will take place from 28th August 2016 to 28th December 2016 in Amiens (near Lille), France.

Description of the project:
Our main goal is to promote the European mobility and celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the EVS through a European Student Village that will take place in Amiens City Centre in September. We want this project to be big that is why we want to welcome 20 volunteers at the same time. We hope our volunteers will transmit the “motivation for mobility programmes” to every young people in Amiens and its region. The “European village” will not be the only event our volunteers will attend.

In September, for the European Day of Languages, they will also participate in our big event called “ZE DICTEE”, a dictation for students in foreign languages. In October and November, we will tour along the region to promote mobility and language learning in high schools. Finally, in December, we will go with our volunteers in schools so that they can share with the pupils traditions of their home country about Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
The main job of the EVS volunteers will be to promote European mobility, to share their experiences with young people from Picardy. They will represent our structure within forums, job fairs. Another main part of their work will be interventions at schools (from primary schools to university). We will ask the volunteers to prepare PowerPoint presentations about their countries (culture, history, language, actuality). We want them to work as ambassadors of their own country. Finally, we will take them to the EU Institutions in Brussels (3hrs from Amiens) to meet our representatives.

They will be entitled to holidays: 2,5 days per month. If they happen to work during the weekends, they can take the double off. They’ll picked up at the airport when they arrive and drop them off when they leave. In Amiens, local transport is covered. As for the profile of the volunteer, if they can have basic French, it is very good but if not, we will consider the candidates that are very interested in EVS.

Amiens is charming town (100.000 inhabitants) .There are a lot of students here at the University. Our organisation work closely with ESN (Erasmus Student Network) and we encourage our volunteer to be involved in their activities. We also have the famous Cathedral, the most beautiful of France.

CHANGE PLACES CHANGE LIVES TRAINING COURSE IN ESTONIA

Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) held a Training Course on Migration called “Change Places Change Lives” which took place from 12th until 19th April 2016 in Taevaskoja, Estonia.

"Changing places, changing lives" was a training course designed to explain and develop deeper understanding about migration in nowadays world. Couple of months has shown how big the phenomena actually are and that there's a big lack of knowledge among youth workers.

Migration is a crucial interest to young people whether they come from countries affected by in-migration or those suffering the consequences of emigration. Knowledge of migration processes, the causes and consequences of migration and rights of young migrants are relevant to young people’s needs particularly if they are likely to become migrants or participants of mobility schemes or if their home communities are affected by migration. Competences in addressing migration in youth work are essential for building community cohesion in those countries.
European mobility programmes for young people are increasingly available for young people within the EU.

There were participants from Estonia, Italy, Slovakia, Finland, Denmark, Greece, Czech Republic, Spain, Romania, Bulgaria and Germany with all together 27 participants.

The Training Course was designed to confront the challenges and opportunities related to migration in Europe. By using different non-formal methods, causes and effects of migration was analyzed. All aspects were supported by the latest findings and developments around migration, pointing to various facets of migration: the main roads, the highways of migration, both in geographical terms and concepts, causes and effects of brain drain, labor migration, study and experience, migration driven by poverty and infringement of fundamental and social rights.

Through a structured program of activities, this Training Course aimed to develop methods and resources to work closely with international migration and its causes to local community. "Changing places, changing lives" was a training course for youth leader and workers who want to develop competences in working with migrants and migration topics and “translate” that for young people in a positive and tolerant way. Training course is aimed to youth workers, youth leaders and those involved working with migrants in their daily work.

TRAINING IN ARMENIA - CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS!!!

Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for participants for a Training Course called “From Conflict 2 Connection – Training for young Peace-Builders” which will take place from 12th until 19st August 2016 in Yerevan, Armenia.

The course will be focusing on diversity and conflict transformation and emphatic communication. Seeing diversity as a barrier instead of appreciating its enrichment has been playing a substantial role in both the national and international debates and politics in each of the participating countries for decades or even centuries.

The transformation of the conflicts starts from us: our hearts being in war or in peace, our way of communication. When we grow in peace with ourselves, we can continue to bring the transformation to our surroundings: our interpersonal relations, the way we connect and relate to our families, friends, acquaintances, strangers, communities. All these topics will be brought to attention in the TC.

Getting a better understanding in how we, people, function and what gets us together and keeps us walking the same direction is crucial for youth workers and peace builders of today. This will be done by promoting non-violent approaches leading to actions on peace-building and promotion of Human Rights. Moreover, young leaders will discuss the significant role of youth participation in grass-root peace-building initiatives.

This event will bring together 34 participants from Armenia, Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Italy, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, Russian Federation and Ukraine. The event will be held in English. There are 3 vacancies available and participants should have minimum 18 years old until 35 year old.

The Erasmus + Programme will cover 100% of the accommodation, food and activities and will reimburse 100% of the travel costs for the participants – up to 320 euros. There will be a participation fee of 40 Eur. per participant.

All the interested people should fill the application form below. The application form must be sent to marco@nyh.ee
